Cognitive Rehabilitation after Long-COVID

Long-COVID

One in eight Dutch people have persistent symptoms after been diagnosed with COVID-19. They experience physical, psychological, and cognitive issues like extreme fatigue, a “foggy brain”, concentration, memory and focus problems. These persistent symptoms, often referred to as ‘long-COVID,’ can endure for several months following the initial infection of COVID-19.

"I realised I suffered from Long-COVID when I was unable to read half a page of a book or follow a conversation with two or more people involved without being exhausted."

How can Koji's Quest help?

Cognitive rehabilitation can help patients that are experiencing cognitive issues after Long-COVID. Koji’s Quest has been part of several COVID Virtual Revalidation studies and programs, which showed promising results.

Koji’s Quest is now being used in several clinics and by individual patients to battle their cognitive issues after Long-COVID.

"After more than a year of standing still, Koji's Quest has finally brought me another step forward in my recovery from long-Covid. Because I mainly experience cognitive complaints and cannot handle light and sound well, I was afraid that it would cause me to relapse. But it's a relaxing environment. Moreover, I decide for myself how long and when I play, I can set the sound level and the brightness myself, and the game adapts to my level. I'm very happy that I accepted the challenge!"

Previous research with Radboudumc

NeuroReality has worked with Radboudumc and SyncVR before on a Long COVID pilot study in 2020. This research was focussed on rehabilitation after Long COVID using virtual reality. In this video a Long COVID patient explains her experiences with Koji’s Quest during this study.

We work with Long-COVID patients in different research and rehabilitation projects, together with our trusted partners
